Big News! Transportation Measure Approved by Metro

Three years ago we launched the Greenway 2020 campaign, an audacious vision to connect a complete 51-mile bike path by 2020 along the Los Angeles River. This programmatic approach to urban scale problem-solving took a huge step forward yesterday when the Metro Board of Directors approved placing a transportation sales tax measure on the November ballot as part of the much needed LA County Traffic Improvement Plan, which would provide $425 million in funding to complete the LA River bike path.

This is huge news for River LA as this potential funding supports the efforts of many to connect every mile of the Los Angeles River Greenway currently in planning, design or under construction. Working towards a connected LA River also aligns with our efforts to create an integrated design vision for the entire 51 miles in partnership with Frank Gehry and a growing cohort of partners.
