Women in Film is shooting "Not What You Expected" a Public Service Announcement (PSA) about the LA River and we need your help! We are casting a variety of roles with all action taking place in and around the LA River.
We are casting non-union volunteers to play these parts and we also need a random variety of goods and services for the shoot. Our PSA will highlight all the wonderful activities you can do at the river. Think of it as your one good deed for the end of summer to help promote the LA River and our environment!
The shoot will take place on Saturday, September 26th. The principal roles will work a 12 hour day, but all other roles will work 4-6 hours. We will provide a fun environment of industry professionals who are all volunteering for this great cause. We’ll take care of your meals too!
Auditions will be Saturday, Sept 12th. She will provide you with an appointment time and more details on what to expect. NON-UNION ONLY. Please do not audition if you are not available and willing to commit to the 26th.
ROLES:
Teenager 1: looks 14-16 yrs old female; Californian blonde girl, may be overweight; pretty and full of energy (legally 16 or over);
Skateboarders: 5 or 6 male and female; Age: between 16 and 25 years old Pro skaters or very good; Ethnicities: African American / Caucasian / Hispanic/ Asian; send links to your skateboarding videos
Tai chi: 10 women; Age: 60 Ethnicities: mostly Asian, mostly female. If you are part of a group/class let us know.
Classic Car Owner – send pics of car; willing to drive it onto cement river bed
PRINCIPAL ROLE Teenager 2: looks 14-16 yrs old boy; Asian or Hispanic; smart but a bit shy (legally 16 or over);
PRINCIPAL ROLE Teenager 3: looks 14-16 yrs old girl; African American, a bit of a bad ass, a bit of a tomboy. Edgy haircut. (legally 16 or over);
PRINCIPAL ROLE Lead Comedic Kayaker: Age: 20 to 45 Ethnicities: African American / Caucasian / Hispanic/ Asian. Will be in water; Must be a great Kayaker
GOODS NEEDED FOR THE DAY:
- Three or four big coolers
- One or two pick up trucks, and if the owner would be willing to drive it for us, even better!
- Two sets of Waders and 2-3 pairs of much boots for crew who will be standing in the water for the shoot
