River LA Listens is a series of public listening sessions in the Lower, Middle and Upper River to share progress on the Integrated Design Study, listen to the public’s thoughts and get people to commit to being a part of a revitalized LA River.
Children’s Listening Sessions - During the River LA Listens Sessions, children will be encouraged to share their vision for the River. Through interactive activities, they will participate in shaping just, equitable and sustainable neighborhoods where families can live, play and grow.

Resilience Bike Rides are a series of family-friendly bike rides from Vernon to Long Beach that expand knowledge of river issues through guided tours that promote environmentally responsible behavior and encourage residents to advocates for environmental issues impacting water quality in the river.

The River LA Advocates Program will advance a healthy, vibrant, and resilient region for everyone by empowering volunteers with the tools to make their voices heard and ensure their community’s perspective is part of a larger conversation about the future of the Los Angeles River. Each neighborhood team of River Advocates are volunteers who care about their neighborhoods and want to make a difference by being the change they want to see. We are recruiting talented youth, engaged parents and concerned residents like you to join our team and build community through organizing, advocacy and education.

Join us in connecting our diverse communities with a re-imagined river rich with welcoming gathering spaces, natural habitat restoration, and sustainable water solutions. Neighborhood Coffees and Tours Along the River are designed to provide an opportunity to gather as neighbors, build relationship and hold space for collective problem-solving. Encourages residents to play an active role in rediscovering the open space along the River and creating a healthy, resilient region.
