Kanner is a seasoned director, producer, and former casting director with more than three decades of experience across film and television. She began her career as a talent agent before becoming a highly respected casting director, contributing to the early creative DNA of iconic series such as Friends, Sex and the City, The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. Her foundation in casting deeply informs her performance-driven approach as a director. Ellie has directed episodes of Boston Legal, The Dead Zone, Greek, Wildfire, and others, and her feature directing credits include Authors Anonymous (starring Kaley Cuoco), Wake, For the Love of Money, Crazylove, and the Tubi original comedy Spread, starring Elizabeth Gillies and Harvey Keitel.
