Outstanding In The Field 2019

On Tuesday, May 28th, River LA staff and board members were joined by over 250 people for the LA Times Food Bowl event, produced by Outstanding in the Field, on the Sepulveda Dam. This sold-out event was a spectacular opportunity to share our organization’s mission and hopes for the LA River’s future with people from all over California coming together to share a meal.

I would like to thank the Outstanding in the Field staff for their excellent work, vision, and generosity as well as the Los Angeles Times for continuing to create opportunities for the LA River during the LA Times Food Bowl events. The evening would not have been the same without the talent of Alex Weiser, Neal Fraser, Zach Pollack, Austin Cobb and the San Antonio Winery for the wonderful meal and drink pairings. I would also like to thank the Army Corps of Engineers for their guidance and expertise throughout the process.

I look forward to partnering with more organizations to develop programming that celebrates the diversity of the communities along the Los Angeles River, creates accessible recreational and education opportunities, and continues to connect the communities along the 51 miles of the LA River.
